Her debut novel, “Silent Girls,” originally titled “Quiet Refuge,” is set in a fictional Alabama town in 1964. In her second book, “Twin Motives,” a gripping crime thriller unfolds in southeastern Michigan in 2016. Centered around a terrorist plot involving kidnapping and murder, the story follows Paige McDonald, a former Marine turned detective, as she unravels a complex web of intrigue.
Continuing the adventures of Abigail Fairchild, Peno’s third book, “A Shred of Doubt,” finds the protagonist grappling with the uncertainty of her husband Greg Fulton’s fate following his disappearance during a helicopter crash in Vietnam. As Abigail awaits news of his fate, she becomes the target of a diabolical duo of serial killers, setting the stage for a harrowing journey into darkness.
